Tara Filmyer, MS, MA, LPC

Tara is a Virginia Licensed Professional Counselor.  She has a MA in Counseling from The George Washington University and a MS in Psychology from St. Joseph’s University. She has been practicing as a school counselor in Northern Virginia for 13 years and has experience working in private practice settings. Tara has a passion for working with children, adolescents and families.  She sees individuals experiencing adjustment difficulties, anxiety, depression, low self esteem and challenges with self management. Tara also provides educational consultation related to academic and mental health needs.  In addition to seeing clients individually, Tara facilitates small groups and enjoys using her expertise as a yoga teacher to teach skills through movement, mindfulness and connection.
